I suffered from severe excema a few years ago. It became so extreme that I barely had use of my hands. And an as an artist this was heartbreaking. It was so painful. Physically and emotionally. It took me a full year of healing. Using food as medicine to completely and thoroughly heal. This was a more challenging path but it allowed healing to happen on all levels. Getting to the root rather than masking the real issue with pills and chemicals.
This made food come to life for me personally. The sacred preparation of making meals – a ritual passed down in families' kitchens around the world. Our relationship to what nourishes us is deeply important. And should be a celebrated ritual for all of us – each and every day.
Making tea, mixing healing tonics and elixirs, growing your own food, picking food directly from the earth and transforming it into a meal – these rituals shouldn't be taken lightly. They will bring you a greater connection to all that is. And heal your human body in the process.
Thanking the plant for its medicine and honouring its offering/healing/gift to you is imperative to using plants and connecting to the earth – your Nature.
Always take a moment to think of the medicine, its magic, your ancestors, the cycles of birth, life, death and how we ingest this lifecycle into our bodies daily.
This is growth and healing at its sweetest.
One book that helped me tremendously during my healing process was Medical Medium by Anthony William. It offered me answers that I was unable to find anywhere else. And honestly when I read it I knew immediately I had aligned with important healing information that I wasn't finding anywhere else. And was exactly what I needed.
