Channeling energy, focused intention and getting out of your own way are all a part of ritual. With specific, intentional moments and movements you can transform in remarkable ways.
It is through ritual that I was able to heal and develop a practice in my own life that helps me connect more deeply – to nature, to others and to my Self. Some days it's profound connection and other days it just helps me get through – moment by moment. This is why I like the term practice. Just practice staying in touch and in tune. Get on a mat or close to the earth. Light a candle or some sacred herbs. Check IN.
Practice makes practice.
Using ritual and other forms of healing I've developed tools that help me stay feeling grounded and clear headed. Through ritual and present moment practice you can heighten your awareness/ intuition/ senses, anchor the subtle body and mind deeply, clear unwanted energy AND begin living in a higher state of consciousness.
Ritual has found its way into every part of my life.
It is integral to a peaceful life in the modern world. And IT is in every thing.
In everything we do. The way we eat, move, breathe. And love.
Use these guidelines to create ceremony around the phases of the moon that suit your specific needs. The sun and the moon naturally control our rhythms. When we honour this and take the time to cycle with it, true flow begins to spill out into all aspects of your life.

Sacred herbs for healing ///

I suffered from severe excema a few years ago. It became so extreme that I barely had use of my hands. And an as an artist this was heartbreaking. It was so painful. Physically and emotionally. It took me a full year of healing. Using food as medicine to completely and thoroughly heal. This was a more challenging path but it allowed healing to happen on all levels. Getting to the root rather than masking the real issue with pills and chemicals.
How I healed myself of excema naturally through food and herbs.
This made food come to life for me personally. The sacred prep of making meals – a ritual passed down in kitchens around the world. Our relationship to what nourishes us is deeply important. And should be a celebrated ritual for ...
The mood enhancer: music that resonates deeply has the power to transform our mood. It's how I like to start my day and is also a tool I use on set when shooting. Creating a specific vibe on set for the story we are trying to tell is an important part of the creative process for me.
Even when I'm performing in front of the camera, when a scene calls for a specific headspace I often use music to help get me there...

A technique in writing. Taking pen to paper. And allowing yourself a chance to write without any expectation. I use this practice in my creative labs and even some meditation classes. I've seen major transformations move at the speed of light. The rules are simple ...
Light candles, sacred herbs, move your body, move your mind, honour life, earth, ancestors – breathe, find presence. Experience your connection to source – truly experience it. And then spread that connection EVERYWHERE you can.
A powerful tool that allows you to access portals within the mind, clear energy and create new cell regeneration in the body.
Known in yoga as Pranayama – Prana: Life Force/ Vital Energy + Ayama: Control/ Extension – when we practice these breathing techniques we heal and develop in numerous ways. Our breathing is highly influenced by our thoughts (often shallow, short and using very little of our full lung capacity). But our thoughts (and physiology) can also be influenced and altered by our breathing. We can alter our physical and emotional states through this practice...

To sit in stillness for moments a day can have the most profound effects on the body and mind. You can do more therapeutic work in a 5 minute session than weeks in a therapists office. First and foremost please know meditation is challenging for everyone. Things come up that make us uncomfortable. Some moments might irritate us. Our desire for distraction grips us at any slight uneasiness. But if you can stick with it and find any stillness within those moments, I promise, wonderful things begin to unfold.
Build altars to define love. Build altars to dedicate your life to service + practice and honour it daily. Build altars of love, intention, vision and heart. Sacred space is vital for our minds to decompress and heal. This means different things for different people. But I feel very strongly that your environment should reflect what you are creating/ building in your life and remind you of where your heart lies.
The intricate complexity of the spine. Our true core. The ever in flux serpent that is connected to every organ and every other part of our body.
We must must must move the spine. Strengthening and opening the spinal column is imperative to optimal health and longevity.
Heart chakra... courage....connection ...the power of backbends as a daily ritual can create great change in our lives. Moving the spine and building your flexibility within the spinal column can ...
The principles that I've learned through my yoga study parallel my creative process in a multitude of ways. The energy is the same. When I create, I am essentially in the same flow. Using the breath. Moving with whatever comes up.
I've become aware more recently of how this is reflected in how I shoot and direct.
